This day long symposium is the only one of its kind in Canada examining the use of drones in journalism. Journalists, student journalists, journalism instructors and journalism school representatives, media organisations, government regulators, and aviation and UAS industry representatives will gather to learn, network, exchange information, and be challenged to develop research partnerships and collaborations to further Canadian drone journalism expertise.

This year, we are pleased to announce our guest speaker will be Gail Orenstein. Gail is a renowned drone journalist whose drone journalism footage has been distributed world-wide including CBS News, Der Stern, Al Jazeera, The Guardian, The Chicago Tribune, Washington Post, TIME, The BBC, The Telegraph, and many more.

Gail will be joined by a stellar cast of drone journalism experts from CBC News, Global News and Bell Media as well as experts in drone technology and aviation law.  Transport Canada and IATA representatives are also participating in our panels and presentations.  You can find the programme here along with more information on all our participants.
